Here my howto for rooting the Galaxy

I wrote two version. A small&quick and a long explaining. If you have trouble with the quick, read the long/full version!

Yesterday, i describe the steps to got full root on Samsung Galaxy. After a few test, i found the howto is incomplete. There is a root adb access on the phone, but on the galaxy user interface is no root. So, here the steps to change it.

a) First, you have all the steps from this Full root on Samsung Galaxy without NPS completed!

Update: Do all the steps in normal boot mode. After my howto from yesterday you have allready a root adb shell!

b) Open a adb shell on your computer

It works and no need! of the f***ing NPS.

On last day Samsung put an update for his Galaxy. With this we got a working recovery image. I have been modified this for a working root adb.

The next useless thing of android is the lack of WPA Enterprise. This is needed for wifi-connection on the campus of my university. If you search about this missing, you find out, android comes with wpa_supplicant. A good software for using all WPA security levels. Only the gui that Google had written is lame.

This issue is fix in the big Donut update a few days ago.

Android is a good platform and can make the world better. But today some things are really stupid.

All Android phones called smart-phone. A good smart-phone like Blackberry has well administration of contacts. You can easily manage all properties of contact you needed for business and life. So good, and what i found on android: A terrible administration of contacts!

First we need the fastboot software for linux. Go to http://www.htc.com/www/support/android/adp.html and search for “Fastboot binary, Linux” in the Fastboot Tool section. Download the binary and unzip it.

For debug access on a android phone you need a working adb (Android Debug Bridge). The linux support for the Samsung Galaxy in android-sdk-linux_x86-1.5_r3 is lame.

The Samsung Galaxy has a fastboot enable firmware.
